How to Do the Raindance AI Trend
The Raindance AI trend puts two people of your choice into the golden-hour pier scene from Dave & Tems' music video - one waits at the end of the pier, the other walks in and sings to the camera. Here is exactly how to make one - no editing skills needed.

Three ways to make it
You can join the trend with a one-click generator (fastest and most original), a CapCut template (a fixed scene cut), or your own prompt in a general video tool (most control, most fiddling).
| Method | Cost | Time | Moves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raindance AI generator | Lite 4s · 16 cr | ~1-3 min render | Generated for you |
| CapCut template | Free, possible watermark | Minutes in-app | Fixed to template |
| Own prompt in a video tool | Varies | Trial and error | You describe them |
Audio: every route ends the same - attach the "Raindance" sound inside TikTok or Reels before posting.
The photo checklist
- Front-facing, sharp and well lit - the model keeps face, hair and outfit.
- Two separate photos - never a group shot, or identities merge.
- Full or half body in frame; cropped heads float oddly on the pier.
- Distinct outfits make the two-person read obvious in one glance.
- JPG, PNG or WEBP up to 10MB each.
Step 1 - Pick your two people
The trend works because the two roles are so different: one waits, one sings. Good pairings: you and your partner, you and a friend, two characters from a show, or a human plus a pet. Use clear, front-facing photos where faces and outfits are easy to see.
- Photo 1 is the sitter - they wait at the end of the pier.
- Photo 2 is the singer - they walk the boardwalk and perform to the camera.
- JPG, PNG or WEBP up to 10MB each.
Step 2 - Choose your settings
- Aspect ratio: 9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube.
- Quality: Lite is Mini at 4 credits/second (480p). Standard is Fast at 12 credits/second (480p). HD is Fast at 25 credits/second (720p).
- Duration: 4, 10, or 15 seconds. 10 seconds is the classic cut; 15 seconds gives the serenade a longer run.
- AI soundtrack: off by default - most creators add the real "Raindance" sound in the app they post to.
- Director's note: optional up to 300 characters. Use it for outfit tweaks, props, or a signature gesture ("the singer hugs their own arms on the long note").
Step 3 - Confirm consent and generate
Tick the consent box - you are confirming you have the right to use the photos, that no minors appear, and that the content is not sexual or harassing. Then hit Generate. A Lite 4s clip is 16 credits.
Step 4 - Post it right
Download the MP4 and import it into TikTok or Reels. Search the sound picker for "Raindance" by Dave & Tems and attach it before posting - that is what connects your video to the trend. Caption ideas: "he waited on the pier", "the duet nobody expected".
Motion Copy - for specific movement
If you want the duo to copy specific movement, use Motion Copy mode. Step 1 renders a photorealistic stage frame of your two people on the pier (18 credits). Step 2 lets you upload your own 3-10 second clip; the model transfers its motion onto your stage frame. Great for recreating a walk or an existing meme.
Common problems and fixes
- Faces swapped: state who sits and who sings in the director's note, and re-upload two separate photos.
- Blurry hands or face: use sharper, brighter source photos - Lite forgives less than Standard.
- Wrong role: photo 1 always plays the sitter - swap the photo slots, not the note.
- Too dark: re-shoot the photos in daylight or bright indoor light.
- People look merged: the source was a group shot or the photos overlapped - use two clean, separate portraits.
